Simulated dew increases volatility of dicamba from soybean leaves

چکیده

Adoption of dicamba tolerant soybeans [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] accompanied by postemergence applications resulted in off-target movement and damage to nearby crops. The underlying cause, some cases, has been attributed weather-related phenomena such as temperature inversions, which are often the formation dew. objective this controlled study was determine if simulated dew on soybean leaves treated with led increased short-term volatility. Over a 48-h period after application dicamba, volatility concentrations quantified air samples 20% when were exposed for 3 h compared that not Concentrations volatilized elevated first (0–24 h) second (24–48 24-h initiating collection samples. Dew may alter stability ultimately contributing movement.

NADH-Nitrate Reductase Inhibitor from Soybean Leaves.

A NADH-nitrate reductase inhibitor has been isolated from young soybean (Glycine max L. Merr. Var. Amsoy) leaves that had been in the dark for 54 hours. The presence of the inhibitor was first suggested by the absence of nitrate reductase activity in the homogenate until the inhibitor was removed by diethylaminoethyl (DEAE)-cellulose chromatography. The inhibitor inactivated the enzyme in homog...

Soybean leaves contain multiple lipoxygenases.

Chromatofocusing of soybean (Glycine max L.) leaf lipoxygenases revealed three distinct peaks of activity. Based on their isoelectric points (pls), pH optima, and mutant analysis it appears that the leaf isozymes are different from those described from mature soybean seed. At least one leaf lipoxygenase appears to differ from those found in hypocotyls. The pls of the main bands of the three lea...

Amino Acid transport in protoplasts isolated from soybean leaves.

We isolated large quantities of mesophyll protoplasts from source and sink leaves of soybean plants and examined them for amino acid uptake. Accumulation of amino acids in isolated protoplasts was linear for at least 40 minutes. Uptake kinetics revealed the presence of both saturable and linear components. Increasing external pH decreases the uptake. The uncoupler, carbonyl cyanide p-trifluorom...

Carbon dioxide concentration at night affects translocation from soybean leaves.

Studies have indicated that the concentration of carbon dioxide [CO2] during the dark period may influence plant dry matter accumulation. It is often suggested that these effects on growth result from effects of [CO2] on rates of respiration, but responses of respiration to [CO2] remain controversial, and connections between changes in respiration rate and altered growth rate have not always be...

Estimation of Protein Turnover in Soybean Leaves

Magic angle cross-polarization 16N nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of intact lyophilized soybean leaves have been obtained at 9.12 MHz. The leaves were harvested over a 6-week period fr m "N-uniformly labeled plants exposed to 13C02 for 1 to 7 days. The concentration of 13C-16N double labels in the main chains of leaf protein was determined nondestructively by double cross-polarization techn...
